Split Rock - “The Escape”

St. George is known for it’s warm, rich red rock against a brilliant blue-sky backdrop. Split Rock’s “Escape” blends the allure of the outdoors with a home that adds to the beauty that surrounds it. Rob McQuay’s modern southwest architecture lures you into the property with resort-like qualities. Two outdoor patio courtyards hint that you have found your perfect hideaway. You can picture yourself lounging on the sofa, while the exquisite outdoor stone fireplace sets the stage for a warm and welcoming evening. The carefully chosen mix of stones on the patio, flow naturally with the home’s surrounding palette, creating a sense of calm. It is perfect for entertaining or just to enjoy on your own.

Inside the home, the contemporary interior design sets the stage for the view, but doesn’t replace it. The décor adds to the natural surroundings without even the hint of distraction. The warm tones blend the experience outside and bring it inside. The wall-to-floor windows in the main room embrace that experience, connecting the two brilliantly. The home boasts high ceilings with textured paint flowing easily from one room to the next. Granite counter tops in the kitchen, with rich wood cabinetry create an inviting atmosphere for anyone’s culinary delights. The room is accented with stainless steel appliances giving the necessary function to the kitchen but with an added modern edge.

The master suite spares no luxury. The walls are painted with text to create the perfect designer feel. The cool green relaxes the senses while two large wall-to-floor windows again invite the outside in. A built in large TV adds to the room’s high-class amenities. A warm crackling fireplace beckons you to stay for hours, perhaps enjoying a nice long bath in the Jacuzzi tub. Privacy décor has been added to the windows above the tub to ensure your escape is all your own. Stone blends into the bathroom tile giving the space a modern edge. Chase Andersen pottery softens the edge in this room and around the home, adding to the southwestern charm.

The guest bedroom works a bold red into the home’s palette. The dark wood accents around the door and windows add the perfect touch. The room is kept bright by neutral walls and a cathedral ceiling. Modern furniture pieces from M&M Furniture keep this room and the rest of the home updated with first class luxury.

The lighting fixtures in both bathrooms are worth noting. Reliance Lighting adds their own modern design, which creates almost an exotic atmosphere. The fixture in the master suite seems to grow against the mirror like ivy, while the second bathroom’s fixture creates an arch of light.

This home could either be the ideal weekend getaway or a permanent residence without the size and commitment of most luxury homes. The state-of-the-art property is just over 1300 square feet, with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The home is set inside the Entrada at Snow Canyon, which is a private resort community in Southern Utah.
